Nu-Disco Orange Groove
Orange Disco House
The remix started by noodling with various rhythmic progressions in G and Admiral Bob’s voice. Settled on pulsing synth pattern that worked well a four layered drum tracks consisting of Admiral Bob’s drums, two programmed disco house club beats and recorded drum fills. Layering the live drummer’s fills, which were not synchronized with the club beats, was more difficult than expected.
Added a synth bass line with a unison arp-like pulse layered on top in places.
Brought in a mix of various guitars: street guitar intro and turn around, neo-soul guitar, Admiral Bob’s rhythm and lead guitars, acoustic guitar and Slayer 2 guitar synth.
The voice was left largely unmolested except for reducing the file to mono, and using low end shelving, GSnap mono pitch correction and Izotope’s Nectar 2 where slight amounts unison, an octave down and a 5th down voices were added and panned.
